Having my mother teach me to sew when I was five, and growing up with a love for creating, it was a natural progression to discover a lifetime hobby of sewing.
I made my first quilt when I was 10, having made countless dolls dresses before that. I always enjoyed a trip to a fabric store, and treasured every scrap I could find.
So my delight at working for a large Patchwork Fabric Shop when I was in my early 20's was evident, and soon I didn't bring any pay packets homes. Instead, recycling them at the shop buying more fabric.
My Etsy shop came about in my desire to share my love of sewing with others. It gives me great pleasure to see other people enjoy handmade items, realising and cherishing the time and effort that goes in to them. I love that a quilt can become a family heirloom, a tangible and loved piece of art.
I've also had the pleasure of designing projects and patterns, not only for myself, but for others, with some featuring in Homespun Magazine, an Australia wide publication.
I'm newly married to a most wonderful man, and we are currently renovating our own little cottage and expecting our first child. We live in the beautiful town of Healesville in the Yarra Valley, one of Australias premier wine growing district. We feel greatly blessed to live in such a beautiful place.
