Purple Yumminess

Remember this stack of cut squares?

Which used to be this stack of Fat 8's?

Well, after taking out some of the greens, and adding in another cream and purple, I finally took the plunge and started cutting and sewing.

I had this momentary, "Egads! What have you done silly girl!" thoughts, but pushed them aside...

And kept cutting...

And sewing. Till a Dissapearing Nine Patch emerged.

Sixteen blocks later, and then the decision... sashing, or no sashing.

Sashing. Most definately a yes to sashing.

And I love it. I seriously cannot wait till it's finished. Now all I need to think of is a name. Any ideas?

    Sam there is no stopping you! Your quilt is just awesome :) I love the colours and a name??Mmm...
    Purple Haze? Well they were a fabulous band many years ago :)

    That sure is one gorgeous combination for a quilt - funny I have a stack of fabric that looks very similar - gotta love purple. Sorry no help with a name, I'm stuck on trying to name my latest creation, he's waiting patiently.

    Purple is not a color I would choose but after seeing your amazing quilt ...I LIKE IT.... Well Done... it looks fab.

    Your quilt looks fabulous! I'm doing a split/disappearing nine-patch now and I love how they come out! As for a name...how about plum pudding?

    Ive never seen it done like that before, cutting to make differnt blocks..very clever..I love it, the colours and the pattern..

    I have no idea about a name honestly, but I wanted to let you know I really love those colors. Purple is a color difficult to get here in the Netherlands, but it does look nice in every quilt. But this combination, it is stunning, good job!

    Hi Sam, what a stunning quilt. As I scrolled down and saw the pic of the single block, it didn't inspire me, but then the next pic of the whole top came into view- and WOW! It is just fab :0) My late friend Faye used to refer to anyone having good fortune, as "hitting a purple patch"- so I would name the quilt "Purple Patches". bye for now.

    This is the first I've heard of the Disappearing Nine Patch quilt. What a great use for those 5" fabric squares I've been cutting from all my scraps! I am posting on my blog about your quilt.
